Lyft is a ridesharing app which connects passengers looking for a ride with a nearby driver. After a ride has been completed, Lyft fares are charged directly to a preloaded credit card, debit card, or PayPal account. Drivers can be star-rated and tipped for great service, a clean car, good conversation and other feedback.

Age 21 or older with 1+ years with a U.S. license. Valid personal auto insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements. No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. No major violations in the past 3 years. No DUIs or drug-related driving offenses in the last 7 years. No extreme infractions in the last 7 years.

Take advantage of Prime time. Prime time is when the demand for rides goes up, and supply of drivers goes down, so rates increase. Stay in the city if you can; you are more likely to earn more. Take advantage of referrals and signup bonuses. Offer supplementary items. Keep good records! You are self-employed and will want to be prepared for tax season. Between rides, don’t drive aimlessly around. Instead, find a location that works well to park. Be friendly, have music on hand, and keep your car clean!
